Keenum Named Week 1 Starter

According to Ian Rapoport, Jeff Fisher will go with Case Keenum as his week one starter, with Fisher telling Rapoport that the Rams will be patient with their Number
one overall draft pick and now backup quarterback Jared Goff.
While it doesn’t come as a complete surprise, that the Rams will go with Goff as the starter in week 1 considering Goff is still learning the playbook, as well as new duties that he didn’t have to do at Cal, such as call plays, take the ball under center to name a few. Its clear that Keenum was the favorite, and it has been clear from their recent preseason games that Jared Goff still has a lot of work to do before he can start.
Of course, if Goff does not start this year, many Rams fans will start to question, if it was worth giving up so much to move up to get him. Seeing the success of last years number 1 and 2 overall picks, who both started last year for their teams. It is a bold choice by Fisher to sit Goff, and as the season plays out it will be interesting to see how patient he will be with his Rookie QB. When you look at the other positions that the Rams need to desperately fill this year, and you consider how deep next year QB draft class is, the bigger question is, “how long will Rams fans be patient with Jeff Fisher?
